The migration intake in the 2017/8 financial year was 30,000 less than the current cap, 190,000. The Government plans to further reduce migration intake in the 2018/9 financial year. Skilled migrants account for about 70% of the total intake and approximately 40% of the total skilled migrants are employer sponsored (ENS/RSMS) migrants.
